United Way Leadership Giving Initiatives

When you give a leadership gift, you have a significant impact on our ability to advance the Agenda for Change, seven goals identified by our community as most critical. These gifts are instrumental to improving people's lives and strengthening Dane County. Be a leadership giver and lead by example! Your leadership giving contribution can be combined with a household member, given as a one-time gift, or given through payroll deduction. Here are the different ways you can get involved:

United Way Rosenberry Society

The Rosenberry Society is a group of young leaders who are investing in United Way of Dane County to create lasting, measurable change in Dane County. The Rosenberry Society hosts monthly events that connect members with their community, with each other and with the most important issues facing Dane County today. Rosenberry members are helping United Way create a stronger, safer, healthier Dane County.

Please indicate your desire to join when making your pledge. Membership is based on age and giving levels:

  • Under age 30, minimum annual gift of $250
  • Age 30 to 40, minimum annual gift of $500

United Way Key Club

Generous contributions from Key Club donors represent nearly one-third of the total United Way campaign. The recognition of these donors began in 1981 at a base level of $500. Between 2006 and 2011, the Key Club base and subsequent levels will gradually increase. Donors are invited to an annual reception, receive a recognition lapel pin, and have the opportunity to be listed in the annual online Key Club Register.

2011 Key Club gifts are recognized at five giving levels:

United Way Tocqueville Society

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society takes its name from the great French philosopher and writer who in 1831 traveled throughout the United States and expressed his admiration for the American spirit of voluntarism. The United Way of Dane County Alexis de Tocqueville Society was established in 1990 to recognize exceptional personal giving among our most community-minded investors. Membership in the society is granted to individuals and households who contribute at least $10,000 annually to United Way. Their generous support is celebrated at membership gatherings and through local and national publications.

United Way Foundation

The United Way of Dane County Foundation exists to support the mission of United Way of Dane County - to create measurable results in improving people's lives and strengthening our community - today and in the future. Beyond an annual campaign gift, many United Way supporters choose to make a gift in perpetuity. Cash contributions, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance or a provision in your estate plans are just a few of the ways to build a foundation of support for our community.
